The 31-year old actor, who plays Harrison Wright in the hit TV series, is reportedly being investigated by Los Angeles police for criminal battery, according to TMZ.
The incident allegedly occurred on March 15, at Gabe's Bar and Grill in L.A and a photo obtained by gossip site shows the victim in a neck brace and unconscious before being taken to a local hospital.

According to sources. Short punched his
37-year-old victim in the face, and knocked him to the ground at an
engagement party where the man had allegedly insulted Short's estranged
wife.The actor reportedly got angry after the other gentleman said: ‘You might be richer than me but I get my girls to buy me everything I want including your wife.’
Columbus supposedly left the bar immediately after the brutal beating. The actor was spotted on the set of Scandal a few weeks later looking unaffected by the alleged incident.
It’s not the first scandal Short has been wrapped up in; as he reportedly knocked several teeth out of a man he was playing basketball with at a Los Angeles gym back in March 2010.

He too has admitted to infidelity during his marriage to first wife Brandi, after having a brief fling with Britney Spears in 2003 when he worked as her back-up dancer, who was eight months pregnant at the time.
Short returned for the third series of the ABC political drama with Kerry Washington, Scott Foley and Tony Goldwyn.
