What a B-L-E-S-S-I-N-G for Alicia Keys! The mother of two gleefully announces…



Alicia Keys has been away from the music scene for four years now, but the 35-year-old singer has announced her return!  Keys will be releasing new music and took to the stage on Wednesday to perform her new song, "Hallelujah", at BET Network's Upfront.

Keys has been teasing fans with big news, posting on her Snap Chat on Sunday night, "So I’ve been dying to share some news with you for a while. You’ve been asking, and asking, and it’s finally real. I have new music to share with you and I’m going to be performing in the next couple of weeks. Oh my God."

During her four-year hiatus, Alicia welcomed her son Genesis, now 15 months, in December 2014. She also has a 4-year-old son Egypt with her husband Swizz Beatz, who is appears to have inherited his parents' musical talent! Little Egypt already has producing credits at his young age! Alicia is gearing up for her performance on "Saturday Night Live" on May 7 and will perform some of her new music. Keys told the New York City crowds she was glad to be back last night, stating, "I feel like I’m performing for my family in my living room."

The singer opened the New York set with her cover of Prince's hit "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore". Keys then launched into singing her new ballad "Hallelujah" off of her upcoming project and the crowd erupted in cheers. The singer appears very excited about her big return and sixth studio album.
In addition to her "SNL" appearance and big announcement about releasing new music, Keys has also become the first artist confirmed for the BET Awards in Los Angeles this June. And last month it was announced she is joining Miley Cyrus, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton on the panel for the "The Voice" this year. This will be her first album in four years following 2012’s "Girl On Fire." We are see Alicia back with a vengeance!
