National Vice-President of the
South-South chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Dr. Simeon
Okah, has described as a mockery on spiritual leaders the allegation by
Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi that the Christians Association of
Nigeria collected N6bn bribe from the Presidency.
Okah asked Amaechi and others who have joined him in making the allegation to stop lest they incurred the wrath of God.
He spoke in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, on Sunday during the inauguration of the state chapter executive of PFN.
He said it was not true that the
leadership of CAN collected N6bn to support President Goodluck
Jonathan’s re-election bid as alleged.
Okah said, “When I read the report, I
called Dr. Okoye, who is the Aso Rock Pastor when Obasanjo was
President, to find out the veracity of the newspaper reports and he said
it was not true.
“I call on those making such allegations to prove their case or repent before they incur the wrath of God on themselves”.
He said Amaechi as a Christian should know the implication of such allegation on spiritual leaders.
“If Amaechi is a Christian that he claims
to be, he knows the implication of making such allegation against
people who are his spiritual leaders. This issue is beyond politics and I
thought that Amaechi, who is a Christian, knows the implication of
making such allegation and I call on him to name the people the money
was given to or shut up,” he said.
