Ex-militant leaders from South-South geopolitical region
have carpeted some governors that defected from the Peoples Democratic
Party to the All Progressives Congress.
They also called on the Nigerian voters to disregard hate
campaigns against President Goodluck Jonathan by the opposition and vote
for him en masse during the presidential election on March 28.
The former Niger Delta warlords, under the aegis of
Leadership, Peace and Cultural Development Initiatives, said the
President had stabilised the polity and performed creditably well in all
facets of national life.
They took their current stance on Jonathan after a meeting
in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, presided over by the group’s National
Coordinator, Pastor Reuben Wilson, a statement on Thursday said.
Reuben urged Nigerians not to be deceived by the use of hate words and violent utterances among political actors.
Berating the defected governors, Reuben said they were only playing to the gallery.
He said, “The defected governors only played to the gallery
without differentiating their achievements in office under the PDP and
in office under the APC.
