Brave mother who lost one breast to cancer at 26 has her HEALTHY breast and ovaries removed

When Katie Parker discovered a lump in her breast at the age of 26 she was devastated to find it was cancer.
But the mother-of-two faced another blow, when doctors revealed she carries a mutation of the BRCA gene, leaving her more susceptible to cancer.
The now 27-year-old did not think twice, immediately opting to sacrifice her remaining healthy breast and her ovaries to give her the best chance of surviving to see her children grow up.
Now, Miss Parker is celebrating after surgeons reconstructed her breasts, using muscles from her back.
She said: 'I was left feeling terrified when tests revealed I had the cancer gene BRCA.
'My first thought was that I wasn't going to see my children grow up if I risked my cancer returning.
'I decided to have my healthy breast and ovaries removed and it was the best decision I've ever made.'
Miss Parker's battle with cancer began last January, when she discovered a hard 50p-sized lump in her breast.
But, she never imagined the lump would be cancerous.
