‘Empire’ Stars Trai Byers And Grace Gealey Marry In Intimate Cayman Island Ceremony

While Anika (Grace Gealey) and Andre (Trai Byers) are not be romantically involved on Fox’s 'Empire', in real life to the two actors took their relationship to the next step by getting married and reports have surfaced the couple recently wed in a small, private ceremony.

According to TMZ, Byers and Gealey tied the knot Thursday in front of a small group of friends and family at a mansion on Grand Cayman island. The outlet, which posted photos from the wedding and reception, said the pair’s 'Empire' co-stars were not in attendance.

Hm. Interesting. You hold a wedding, but don't invite any of your co-workers? We may need to come back to this.

Anyway, news of Byers, 32, and Gealey’s engagement broke over the summer when Us Weekly

During an appearance on Tyra Banks’ daytime talk show, 'FABLife,' Gealey talked about dating a co-worker. Then she flashed her sparkly diamond ring.

“I think that if you do get involved — I keep wanting to say on set — I think that if you do get involved at your workplace you have to know that this is something that you want to be invested in, and this is just not just something that is frivolous and fleeting,” Gealey explained (via PEOPLE magazine).

“[You have] to have the maturity to say that if this doesn’t work out, you’re not going to, you know, throw staplers.”

Sure, sure. Because the Empire set has been so calm and quiet since day one.
Is there a jar marked, 'BAD DECISIONS' sitting on the crafty table, next to the Twizzlers and coffee? Are the cast members forced -- or are they dared -- into picking one of the several pieces of paper with not-so-great ideas scribbled on them, from inside this supposed jar?
And was it possibly Gealey and Byers' turn to draw from this jar?

I'm not saying it doesn't always work out when co-workers date, but I MIGHT be saying the odds may not be in your favor.

And I WILL give the couple points for NOT inviting the other cast members to their ceremony, (who KNOWS what kind of drama would have unfolded on Grand Cayman), but just imagine a world where Empire is cruising into its fifth or sixth season and you are spending EVERY - SINGLE - DAY,  ALL DAY with  your co-worker, then going home at night together to crawl into the same bed?

Let me tell you... it will NOT be all burritos and strippers, my friends.

There is a truck load of wisdom in the saying, "Absence makes the heart grows fonder".

A little absence also keeps you from killing each other.

On the plus side, I'm guessing both Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard may be sitting on the sidelines, happy to pass the 'drama mama reigns' over to other cast members.

But that may be a story for another time.
