10 Greatest WWE superstars of all time - Slide 9 of 11:Andre the Giant

#9 Andre the Giant

The first inductee into the hall of fame, Andre the Giant was someone who had great wrestling skills for someone of his size.  He suffered Acromegaly from a very young age and as a result saw himself grow excessively than any of his peers.
However, this size difference came to his advantage when Vince McMahon sr.  hired and promoted him as a top star in the company. he also gained the nick name “Eight Wonder of the World” took on almost all the big names that the company had to offer at that time.
The most memorable moment of his career came at WrestleMania III where Hulk Hogan slammed him in front of almost 90000 people to end a streak which was claimed to be 15 years long.
Apart from Wrestling, Andre had a love for alcohol and was known to take an incredible 7000 calories of alcohol per day. There are also stories of him drinking 119 beers in one sitting and also having the ability to wrestle despite being heavily drunk.
He won the WWF and the WWF tag team title during his run in the WWE and he died early due to the illness getting serious. Though he isn’t someone who won many titles, Andre is definetly a wrestler who can’t be replaced.
